Day school and In-home (ABA) for children with autism. ABC school provides a 25.5 to 30 hour weekly program on site, utilizing 12 classrooms and serving students from ages 1 to 22 years. ABC also provides in-home ABA programs ranging from 15 to 40 hours per week, which include tutor training and supervision and weekly team meetings. ABC’s concentration is on communication, including use of ABA techniques to teach verbal imitation, PECS, and some sign language. An infant/ toddler program is also on-site providing early development/behavioral services

BEST offers early intensive behavioral programs designed for children with autism spectrum disorders. BEST’s programs are all based on research and behaviorally based literature. The team at BEST has worked with many leading researchers in the field including Ivar Lovaas, Ph.D., Nina Lovaas, M.A., Tristam Smith, Ph.D., Lori Frost, M.S., and Andy Bondy, Ph.D. BEST is collaborative and incorporates behaviorally based programming into our intervention such as PECS, Reading & Writing, and Socialization Training. BEST designs programs that are client specific and successful as demonstrated through data and progress. BEST also offers functional assessments, ABA parent training, functional adaptive skills training, classroom consultation, and workshop training. BEST is currently providing services in the Sacramento, Reno, and Lake Tahoe areas.

Capitol Autism Services (CAS) provides services to children with autism, ages 18 months to 14 years, through behaviorally based in-home programs that address each individual in a humanistic and holistic manner with the goal of promoting quality of life. Based on a positive programming philosophy, CAS works with team members to develop skills to increase each child’s ability to participate in family, school, and community settings. Emphasis is placed on the inclusion of parents and the development of their ability to provide their child functional education and functional adaptive skills to promote generalization and success across environments. CAS utilizes a team approach to meet the goals of the individuals we serve by combining the expertise of our well-trained staff and consultation with other community professionals, specialists, and agencies with knowledge in the field of autism.

CVAP, Inc. is a research and clinical replication site of Dr. Ivar Lovaas, providing early intensive applied behavior analysis intervention for young children with autism spectrum disorder across three intervention components: (1) In-home 1:1 component; (2) Peer Play Training component; and (3) Regular Education Classroom component. The intervention curriculum emphasizes acquisition of verbal behavior, cognitive development, functional and self-help skills, reduction of maladaptive behaviors, play skills and socialization, advanced social and pragmatic language skills, and generalization of skills across multiple environments and conditions. In addition, CVAP, Inc. offers an Advanced Social Skills program specifically targeting complex social and interactive skills and understanding social and emotional meaning, and responding appropriately in the social context for children with lingering social deficits. Therapeutic Pathways provides intensive in-home and clinic-based behavioral and language interventions for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Programs typically begin between the ages of 15 months and 4 years of age. Treatment averages 25-40 hours of direct intervention per week and reflects the child’s age and needs. Intervention is extended into community and school settings as soon as possible.
